Our Story
Born out of their love for Christmas and animals, Hounds for Hope has evolved over the last decade. Since the late 2000’s, cofounders, Joel and Norah have hosted a holiday party in their home in an effort to collect supplies for the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Over time, as the supply contributions increased, the Christmas decor did as well. Several years ago, Joel decided since the party is always held in early December, they needed to rehome the beautifully decorated trees that were displayed at the party. The first couple years they used social media to find families who may not be able to afford or physically obtain a tree, stand, lights and ornaments. After the very first tree delivery, the couple knew they had to do this on a bigger and more organized scale. With the help of their increasingly generous and talented friends, the board was created.
Now, Hounds for Hope has 5 board members and focuses on 3 main goals to support their community. First is the annual tree drive, where the team continues to provide trees to families each season. Secondly, Hounds for Hope selects a local animal rescue group to collect supplies to support their efforts in the community. Finally, the team helps bring enjoyment to the lives of deserving children by providing requested items from Easter baskets to birthday gifts.
The Hounds for Hope team is committed to meeting the needs of people and animals in their community.
